HPS Trust was set up with a donation from a local resident of £1 million plus £280,000 Gift Aid. The Trust is audited by Baker Tilly and is subject to the rules of the Charity Commission.
Since inception an average of £150,000 has been distributed in grants each year. Click here to learn more about projects that have received Trust funding.
The Trust is aiming to raise £5 million in order to secure its future and expand its activities. The interest on this sum, together with future annual donations, should bring an income of at least £200,000 a year.
Under HMRC's Gift Aid scheme, donors who pay higher-rate UK tax can reclaim 'higher-rate relief' on their annual self-assessment tax return - and the Trust can further benefit by claiming 28p in every £1 donated. Click here to learn about the initiatives identified for 2010-11.
